Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her first appearances on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters in the first impeachment proceedings in America for over a century. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned a Tony Award nomination. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
